I'm a behavioral educator, keynote speaker, and bestselling author of Parenting the Confident Child and You're It. I teach at Emory University and have spent over two decades in this work: as a nanny, as a court-appointed advocate for children in the foster system, and now as the creator of the THRIVE™ framework. F.U.N. stands for Finding Unmet Needs, the lens I use to read every behavior I see.
I also aged out of foster care myself. I know what it costs a child to grow up without anyone teaching them how to regulate, how to trust, how to feel safe, and I know what it costs a mother to be doing her absolute best and still hear her own voice come out sharper than she meant it to.
Guard Your Heart isn't a theory I read about. It's the framework I built from a life spent learning, first the hard way and then the biblical way, what actually helps.
The Curriculum
The same Notice, Name, Pause, Choose, Enter Their World, Connect Before Correct, Repair framework Tameka teaches inside her keynotes and family coaching, broken into one shift a day.
You will learn to notice the very first signal in your body, before the snap ever starts.
You will learn to name the real feeling underneath the reaction, so it stops running the show.
You will learn to create real space between the trigger and your response.
You will learn to choose the response you actually meant to give.
You will learn to step into your child's experience without losing your own footing.
You will learn why connection has to come before correction, and how to do both without losing your authority.
You will learn how to repair the moments you didn't handle well, and why that teaches more than perfection ever could.
What families say after doing this work with Tameka.
“We went from walking on eggshells around our kids to actually enjoying our time with them. By the end of the first week, the meltdowns had all but disappeared.”
“Tameka has an extensive education and background which makes her a perfect fit for my family. Would hire her again without question.”
“With your ardent support, you've given her the tools to manage her temper and be more open with us at home. She's learned to really listen and express herself without getting frustrated. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
“Tameka Anderson is an amazing person and coach. Her guidance is extremely helpful, no nonsense, clear instructions, and so positive.”
Show up, watch each day's video, and work the daily practice page. If you complete all 7 days and don't feel a real, honest shift in how you catch yourself before snapping, email me. I'll personally work with you until it clicks. No arguing, no hoops. Just a real conversation about what isn't landing yet.
About 10 to 15 minutes a day for seven days, plus a few minutes to fill out your workbook page.
Yes. Each day builds on the one before it, so the framework makes the most sense in sequence. But it's self-paced, so you set the calendar.
No pressure, and nothing to catch up on for a deadline. Pick back up whenever you're ready. This is yours to keep.
No. This is faith-rooted coaching and education, not a replacement for professional mental health treatment. If you're navigating something beyond what a self-paced challenge can hold, please also connect with a licensed counselor.
